Need a break from life and time to relax? If you just answered yes, you’re not alone. March is halfway through the spring, and also halfway through the semester for me (life of a college student). I’ve got the perfect escape and downtime activity: movie night! Mmmhmm, everyone loves a good movie, whether it’s with your boo-thing, your friends, or with the kids. This month there are tons of awesome movies being released.
The next issue is trying to figure out what to watch. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. I’ve come up with a list of three films coming out this month that are perfect for any situation. You can go with a friend, take the kids on a Saturday afternoon, or just have a movie night splurge all to yourself. Whatever the case may be, these films are sure to be entertaining and worth the money.
1. Captain Marvel
This film is an adaptation from the Marvel comic Ms. Marvel. It centers around the character Carol Danvers, who is an Air Force fighter pilot. Danvers finds herself becoming a super-heroine when planet Earth gets caught in the middle of a galactic war. The film has a bit of sci-fi, action, and most importantly, superheroes! Academy Award winner Brie Larson stars in the film as Danvers. She’s joined by Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gemma Chan, to name a few of her co-stars. This film is sure to be a blockbuster at the box office as it caters to female empowerment. “Captain Marvel” is perfect for your movie night because the kids are all about superheroes, its action speaks to all the boyfriends out there, and even the husbands can geek out to this take on an old Marvel Comic. The film’s release date is Friday, March 8th. Click here to watch the trailer.
Here are 3 movies releasing this March that are sure to be crowd-pleasers!
2. Run the Race
This film is produced by Heisman-winning quarterback Tim Tebow and his older Robby. It centers around two brothers–Zach, a football star and David, who’s grounded in his faith. The two hold a strong bond as siblings coping with the loss of their mother and a father who abandons them shortly after her death. Zach’s dreams of a scholarship are jeopardized after he suffers a career ending knee injury, crushing his hopes of providing a way out of town for both him and his brother. Filled with faith and life-affirming hope, though, the story doesn’t end here and we watch as David steps into the role of hero and runs the race towards freedom for both himself and his injured brother. This inspirational film focuses on a theme familiar to Tebow, who battled the odds in his bid to make it in professional baseball with the New York Mets in 2016, before suffering a season-ending broken bone in his right hand. The film is sure to be full of life lessons for all who watch. Run the Race was released on Friday, February 22nd. Click here to watch the full trailer for the film.
Disney has partnered with director Tim Burton to bring you the live action of their original film “Dumbo”. The classic tale of the elephant that could fly is the highly anticipated live-action Disney film of the year. This film is packed with well-known actors and actresses, such as Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Colin Farrell, and Michael Keaton. “Dumbo” will expand upon the original storyline, and incorporate the more modern theme of celebrating differences. Like all Disney films, this one is sure to have a life lesson worth keeping in mind. This film is great to watch with the entire family or just a fun Saturday afternoon with the kids. This is sure to be one of Disney’s best live-action films to date. The film’s release date is Friday, March 29th. Click here to watch the trailer for the film.
I’m so excited to see these films and hope they have sparked some interest with you. Don’t forget to grab your popcorn, candy, and beverage before the movie starts. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
