Reflecting on the Last 2 Years with a Full Heart

We are two years old! It’s been an exciting, crazy, terrific, difficult, wonderful ride since the launch of this online magazine, The Grit and Grace Project. So of course today we are celebrating.

But, it would be remiss to not take just one day to reflect, to remind ourselves to go back in time and remember the steps that brought us to today.

We feel honored to tell the stories that we do, and it brings us great joy to watch them touch the hearts of women. We have been forever impacted by the writers who have brought their struggles, their triumphs, and the strength they have gained through walking their road. There is such beauty in the mosaic created by the women who have joined us as writers.

There have been women whose lives have intersected with ours as guest contributors and they’ve had opportunities to share some things that the world needs to hear. Then there are those who have joined us in our passion for strong women, who have layers of insights each month and gift us with a little slice of their lives. For all we are grateful.

Our team has expanded, the new podcast has been launched, and yet we have really just begun to tackle all of the dreams and ideas we have for the future. We are excited about our growth (check out our amazing infographic, totally cool isn’t it?). Our reach is broad and the visitors to our site are increasing every day. So yes, we are celebrating!

But it’s more than that for The Grit and Grace Team; we believe we have become rich with real treasure to be found in this life: the building of a community of strong women and of course those who want to be. We are thankful for where we have come from, hopeful for where we are going, and we know this dream was not our own. So today we celebrate. You see, it’s our birthday!

Darlene, President of The Grit and Grace Project, is crazy enough to jump in the deep end then realize she may not have a clue where she’s landed. She has spent her adult life juggling careers in the music business, been an author, a video producer, and also cared for her family ... some days drowning, other days believing she’s capable of synchronized swimming.
