Sometimes inspiration comes from irritation. A recent vexing conversation got me thinking. Who were three women that had the most impact on me in my youth? I leave out my mother—that’s a totally different kind of impact from what I’m talking about. I’m referring to the external world, the women that showed me something different from my maternal world. A type of woman that has you soaking in what they have to teach you without you or they even being aware of it.
