When Your Past Abuse Still Hurts
About the Author
Writing had never been on Allison’s radar.
An avid science and math girl, she did everything possible to avoid the elementary school spelling bee and any formal writing assignment. But life is a great teacher. And with its gentle instruction, Allison now spends her days writing and sharing her words.
Allison and her husband Cornelius live in a small farming town in Northern California. Since her retirement in 2017, you can find her tending a container vegetable garden, walking the miles of trails surrounding her community, and actively mentoring and coaching women. She enjoys helping them anchor their identities and worth in the truth found only in God’s Word.
During her professional career, she supported medical professionals as they provided care to cancer patients and their families as well as those individuals that have marginal access to healthcare.
Those experiences allowed Allison to watch God work in and through her. It also gave her an outlet to use her gift of organization while serving her community.
Allison shares, “Writing now is an integral part of my life. My prayer is that my words help women understand their true value and worth in Christ. If it reaches just one, all the late nights and lost hours will be worth it.”
