‘Tis the season of pumpkin spice lattes and the layering of clothing. Sweater season is in the air, friends. I don’t know what it is, but something about putting on a cozy sweater makes my heart happy. Do y’all know that feeling? I just love everything about fall, especially fall fashion. One of the things I love about sweaters is that they are extremely versatile and make for great fashion pieces to add to your fall and winter wardrobe.
While there could be a multitude of books written about all the different types and styles of sweaters, I am sharing my 5 must-have sweaters of this season.
1. Neutral Cardigan
I got this ballon-sleeved cardigan for school and let me just say I have received so many compliments on it. You can d
ress it up or down. What makes it so great is that it actually keeps you warm and it is super cozy. This is a must-have piece because it goes with just about anything. Imagine yourself one weekend at the cabin with your man or some friends, drinking hot chocolate, curled up by a nice, warm fire…this is the perfect sweater to take with you on that trip!
2. Off-The-Shoulder Sweater
Okay, so let’s be honest for a moment. Wearing a sweater doesn’t always mean we are wearing it for warmth.
Sweaters have become such a fashion statement that a lot of sweaters aren’t used to make us necessarily warm but fashionable. This brings us to off-the-shoulder sweaters. Whether you want to go dressy or casual, the off-the-shoulder look still allows you to be conservative yet feel sexy. These sweaters are my absolute favorite because you still have the “sweater feel” without feeling bundled up.
3. Sweater Dress
Sweater dresses are great because you can look stylish while still being comfortable. I love this one from Lulu’s
because it is flattering and comfortable, plus the backless detail makes it sophisticatedly sexy. Wear this with black tights and knee-high black boots or leggings with flat booties. You can also dress this one up or down, the choice is yours!

4. Multi-Use Sweater
If you do not have a convertible sweater in your closet, get one! I bought one a few years ago and still wear it
because of its versatility—you can style it so many different ways. Unfortunately the one I got at Victoria’s Secret a few years ago is not available anymore, but I found this great convertible sweater from Nordstrom. One thing I really love about this Nordstrom’s sweater is the high-low hem with side slits. The sweater is flowy so you don’t have to worry about constantly pulling it down. This would be great to wear with a pair of skinny jeans and heeled booties, and to really make the outfit pop wear a statement piece of jewelry!
5. Sweater Vest
Sweater vests are statement pieces! It is a great way to add flair to your look. So if you know you want to wear a sweate
r vest I highly recommend pairing it with a fitted sweater underneath to help eliminate unnecessary bulk. When picking out a vest, it is important to determine whether you are going to be wearing this vest outdoors or as an added piece to your ensemble. I love this faux fur vest from Revolve. It is a true staple!
